The Client
We were very excited when Stannah approached us with a brief to create their first animated television advert. The project was an exciting and challenging brief which we were thrilled to be a part of.
An issue Stannah often come across when trying to market their products is changing the views of the public and removing the misguided stigma associated with stairlifts. Stairlifts are often seen as an embarrassing, lastminute resort to solving mobility issues, rather than a life enhancing mechanism designed to help its user keep their independence and give back time and money which can be better spent elsewhere.
We needed to create a mature character, in need of a stairlift whom the older generations felt more comfortable connecting and associating themselves with. We designed the protagonist ‘Susan’ to be a fashionable, young-natured character who spends her time socializing, doing fun activities with her friends and grandchildren. In the animation she lives out a familiar situation to many elderly people living with mobility issues of looking to sell her family home to downsize to something more accommodating. With moving often being so expensive, Susan needed a more cost-effective solution – a Stannah Stairlift.
